Oh how time flys...

Our potty seat adventure!!
A few pics of Alysa!!

Life has been on the fast forward button these days. Jaydn is ending his kinder Garden year in June. Starting August he will be starting 1st grade. He will be starting a Chinese immersion class that he got accepted into. His elementary is beginning it this year. He will be learning everything in english half the day and then Mandrian chinese the other half. It will end his 6th grade year or if he decides he does not like it. This will be a great experience for him. Hopefully all goes well then all three of them could be in this type of program. So I quess Derick and I better start practicing our chinese...
Brenon is turning 4 on the 18th this month but we had his birthday early with lots of cousins and a couple friends, it was crazy but fun. Brenon loves Dinosaurs but lately he has been all about How to train the dragons figurines(thanks to cousin parker:) So that was the theme for the party was how to train a dragon. Brenon has become quite a busy body being mischievious. The lastest example was when he came down with a duck toilet seat around his neck. He thought since it came off the first time why not do it again. Well luckly we had to wait a few minutes until derick got home and with a lot of pulling and red ears derick was able to get it off. I hope he grows out of this stage but I don't think any time soon!
Alysa is growing so fast. She is my petite little one but what did ya expect:) She is finally smiling tons and loves to talk and her giggle is the best. The nights are actually getting better, we have more good nights than bad. At least for now she has been the easiest at night. No colic yet I am hoping to skip that stage so I am keeping my fingers crossed. All I can say is girl shopping is the best..Brenon always makes her smile and it seems that the two of them share a special bond. Jaydn talks to her and kisses her but goes on with his big boy stuff.
The last few months we have enjoyed a easy schedule for derick's intern year. I have been very spoiled with all his help. We have one month left of the intern year which will be crazy again, so I am not looking forward to that. The bright side is derick should have a better schedule starting July. I quess we shall see. A few days ago Derick and Matt put soil and sod down for our side yard. It was a lot of hard work but with matt's expertise it looks really good. Derick and Matt did all of this in just a 1 1/2 days. Poor Matt we always can find work for him when he visits:) Thank you Matt and of course Sarah since she was so supportive having matt help out.
We can't wait to see you all next month.

Here she is!!!

Well we came home from the hospital on sunday and was greeted by Grandpa Holt and two excited big brothers. It was so nice to pull up with are long awaited girl. We went in on Friday at 10:15 am and by 11:00 I was all hooked up and waiting to have my water broke. Around 12:30 my doctor broke my water, I knew we would go fast as soon as it happened indeed it did.
My mom and sister was there to greet Alysa. It was very nice to have them there it made it a bonding experience. We did have a scare when we learned that the cord was wrapped around her neck and when she came out she cried for a minute then quit breathing so the doctor took her fast to the nurses and they began to work on her. I knew we were in big trouble when they called the NICU for help and the look on dericks face as they worked on Alysa but suddenly she started coming around and crying again. All I can say is we sure had guardian angels watching I thought things like that only happened in the movies since Jaydn and brenon's deliveries went so well. I quess not only did she have a cord wrapped around her neck she also had a true knot on her cord it is a rare event to happen.
The great thing is she came around so quickly she and I got to have our skin to skin bonding and she was able to nurse with no problems. I got to hold her in my arms while they wheel chaired me to my room. The boys and Grandpa showed up in time to be in my room to watch her have her first bath.
Jaydn and Brenon are so happy to finally have there little sis here however since all she does right know is sleep and eat they give kisses and hi's and off they go.
Alysa is a great baby except she likes to eat, eat and eat more especially at night. I quess she is just trying to catch up.
I have been lucky this week to have my mom up to help out and even though Derick works long hours he still helps out at night. It's been hard for the lack of sleep for me but it's been harder for Derick to be away so long during the day and missing out on Alysa. The good thing is he has a week off starting this Sunday night.
The cutest thing about Derick is that he thought girls would be a lot easier when it came to changing diapers but he found out that fountains can be a lot worse than being shot at. For me I am so glad to have her here it is so hard to but her down. Having her now I would not know what to do if I had another boy since the girl bonding experience is such a great feeling. Well that's it for now. here's a few pic's.

6 years today!!!

I can not believe how time has pasted. 6 years ago I was sitting in the hospital holding my baby Jaydn, looking into his big blue eyes for the very first time. Now he is my big boy that is almost finished with Kindergarden. He loves Lego's, Snakes, and of course has my gift of gab and has daddy's smarts and he likes to tell us what to do!!
Every baby is a miracle but I will never forget that truly he was our miracle and the struggles and the tears that came with waiting and wondering if we were ever to experience the gift of parenthood.
Happy Birthday our little miracle you were well worth the wait!!!

Finally catching up

Even though there are quiet times it seems like I am super behind on posting.. So I will try to make it short.. The latest event was my Baby shower for Alysa. I got super spoiled by everyone and the neatest part that most everyone showed up.. I never saw so much pink stuff except in a baby girl shop!!! A car seat and few items is all I need for her and I need to finish up on her room and then we are ready..
I am amazed how everyone came up and went out of there way for me. Thank You all for making my shower special..
Now it is just a down hill waiting game. I will be 34weeks this Friday, I know that I look small but for me she is getting big. I never experienced with the boys the feeling of not being able to breathe but with Alysa the last trimester has been feeling like I can not breathe and horrible acid but I can not complain to much. I am super excited to meet her.
Derick will be on a bad schedule until the week after she is born than after that things will calm down until his last month than he changes into his real Optho residency which is June. All I can say hip hip hurray.
New Years was great Shayne, Derick, Matt met up with Rich for some guy time at Brighton. Derick had such a great time.. Than we rang the new year in with Sarah, Matt, Shayne, my mom and of course the boys..
We celebrated Christmas with my family on Dec 19th, every one came to my house so it was so nice to have a bigger house to put everyone in. Then Derick , the boys and I had Christmas early since derick had to work Christmas eve and Christmas morning. The bonus was that Derick got home by noon so we all went to Alvin and the Chipmunks and ate at the movies since there was absolutely nothing open.. Good Hamburger but the most expensive burger I ever ate.
Christmas was not the same not being with family but it was nice our first year at our own home... Only 1 year of Derick getting the bad schedule then from then on we should be enjoying all holidays off.
I could go on but this is good for now..... Will be posting pics soon!!

Trick Or Treat

We are finally caught up for this October!! Brenon was a frog for Halloween. We bought it for him and he was in it constantly including jumping off furniture and reffering himself to Froggy brenon. Jaydn I am sure you can quess was a snake. I found his of ksl for only five bucks so it was a great deal.
Again we lucked out and Derick got Halloween off so he could go trick or treating with us. Also my mom and Shayne came down for the night.
Our neighborhood is the best since you can get tons of candy and is family friendly so you can roam and feel safe. The highlight was brenon saying rippit instead of trick or treating and it actually turning out warm for us.
Derick went as the over worked intern and I went as a pregnant stay home mom. lol

Pumkin Carving

Just Pictures!!

The Pumpkin Patch (Oct 10th)

We started our family tradition years ago when we found the perfect pumpkin patch. The one that we use to go to has been plowed and turned into buildings but the last few years we found a cute little family pumpkin patch close to us around Daybreak. With Derick on his VA Optho rotation we used his only weekend off to go pumpkin hunting. Jaydn was into finding pumpkins a lot more than Brenon. He had to to get Large, Medium and Small. So thank goodness the prices are a lot cheaper here than a grocery store.
This weekend Brenon was more interested in his stickers that he got to pick out at Hobby Lobby. I think almost every picture we took he stuck the stickers out and said cheese. I am sure glad we are over that sticker stage for now(my walls and furniture could not handle it.)
Over all we had a great weekend with stickers and all.
